Posting Description: EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED: Program Coordination: * Collaborate with and make recommendations to the Continuing Education Advisory Committee and Faculty/Non-Faculty in CDE planning activities for approximately 20-30 courses per year. * Responsible for managing and executing high-quality and professional CDE and professional development events, including coordinating event logistics, providing technical support, and customer service for on and off-site programs. * Arrange participation of speakers by developing scopes of work and contracts for faculty/non-faculty. * In coordination with the school's communication team, design CDE course marketing materials and implement marketing strategies to ensure maximum course participation, which may range from 15 to 400 participants per course and includes: Dental Assistants, Dental Hygienists, General Practitioners and Specialists. * Manage program web content and event registration systems; and provide technical support to users and registrants * Manage and coordinate student attendance at CDE courses as part of the lifelong learning component to the dental student curriculum * Serve as a liaison with professional organizations and industry partners interested in CDE and related professional development program areas. * In coordination with student life and alumni relations teams, manage the school's relationships with dental recruiters, which may include identifying and publishing recruiter and employment opportunities for CU dental students and alumni * Collaborate with the school's student life and alumni relations teams to engage students and alumni in CDE, professional development, and life-long learning programs. * Collaborate with the school's faculty development committee and faculty affairs team to manage school-wide faculty development initiatives. * Collaborate with the faculty CDE director to prepare and submit accreditation applications to the American Dental Association Continuing Education Recognition Program (ADA CERP) for each renewal period.
Financial and Compliance Coordination: * Under the guidance of the faculty director, manage the day-to-day operation of the CDE program and ensure that the program is in compliance with the rules and regulations of the Colorado Department of Higher Education, School of Dental Medicine, American Dental Association Continuing Education Recognition Program and the University of Colorado as they pertain to the administration of the Continuing Education program. * Develop reports on final budgets for the Dean, Director and CCHE. * Manage fiscal activity by collecting tuition payments and depositing payments, approving and reconciling expenditures. * Verify and reconcile monthly financial statements. * Commit Continuing Education funds, authorizing and approving expenditures. * Some travel is required for this position.
Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * A bachelor's degree in business, finance, professional development, human resources, communication, or related field. * Three (3) or more years of program coordination in one or more of the following areas: continuing education, event planning, external relations, academic program coordination, or professional development. * Experience in web, social media, or other electronic communication. * Experience in data, event registration, and/or learning management systems. * Experience in customer service and support.
Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: COMPETENCIES/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES * Well-developed professional skills in the areas of event planning and management, office management, fiscal management and supervision of support staff. * Knowledge and general understanding of university curriculum/education with an emphasis on continuing education and professional development programs. * Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with stakeholders at all levels. * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with faculty, staff, students, alumni, industry and the public. * A working knowledge of accounting and financial principles and procedures. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, alumni, dental professional and administrative personnel at all levels including outside organizations and the public. * A demonstrated ability to organize and complete complex projects and to work under tight deadlines. * A demonstrated ability to manage and respond to support customer needs and requests in a professional, timely manner * Ability to be flexible to work hours extending beyond the normal work-day and week. * Excellent written and verbal skills. * Excellent Interpersonal skills. * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
Desired Qualifications: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience creating marketing materials and implementing marketing strategies. * Experience with event planning, specifically coordinating events/classes that are held off-site.
