Job Description: The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at East Carolina University is accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track, fixed-term position as Teaching Instructor of French or Teaching Assistant Professor beginning August 16, 2014 with a teaching load of four courses per semester. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching phonetics and/or leading study abroad programs. Preference given to individuals with experience in communicative teaching practices. Applicants should demonstrate commitment to teaching and service to the university, community and profession, especially with French program recruitment and outreach. Salary commensurate with qualifications. Screening will begin May 29, 2014 and continue until position is filled.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: MA in French required, or any MA + 18 graduate units in the field. PhD required for appointment as Teaching Assistant Professor. Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire. Native or near-native fluency in French and English.
