The College of Education at Florida State University invites applications from candidates for a position as a Teaching Faculty I (background in Reading/Language Arts and one other content area strongly preferred) at the Panama City Campus. This position is a 12-month, non-tenure track faculty appointment with responsibilities in teaching, advising, and student recruiting. Instructional duties involve both daytime and evening classes. The anticipated hire date is May 1, 2014 and is renewable on an annual basis. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Screening of applications will begin on October 15, 2013, and continue until the position is filled.
Anticipated Salary Range
Earned Ph.D or Ed.D in Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary Education, Reading/Language Arts, or related field is required. The successful candidate must also have prior K-12 (elementary preferred) teaching experience. Previous experience working with student teachers and collegiate teaching experience is expected. In addition, the candidate should have demonstrated success working with diverse school populations, show evidence of ability to collaborate with colleagues in related academic disciplines, and have some familiarity with accreditation processes..
Reading/Language Arts background preferred.
FSU is currently implementing a reclassification project of current non-tenure track position titles. Due to these changes it is possible that the current advertised position's title will change. These changes will be effective Spring 2014. There will be no impact to the positions major responsibilities.
