Job Description Summary:
The Assistant Director of Development of CCAS develops strong relationships with individual donors, alumni, and friends of the University for the purpose of securing leadership annual gifts. The Assistant Director's role will heavily focus on growing the pipeline of donors for Columbian College and advancing the mission of the college through active engagement and strategy.
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus two years of relevant professional experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
-Experience in administering development and fundraising activities in higher education, public relations, or business administration is desired.
-Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
-Strong writing and analytical skills.
-Ability to make cold calls to secure face-to-face visits with donor prospects.
-Background in Annual Fund and direct solicitations a plus.
Special Instructions to Applicants:
Manages a portfolio of approximately 150 alumni prospects and donors to identify, cultivate, and steward new, existing, and potential donors capable of making leadership annual ($1,000+) and major gifts ($50,000+) to CCAS. Conducts an average of 15-20 prospect visits monthly and travels regionally and nationally to conduct meetings and solicitations in order to meet goals.
Works closely with Senior Associate Director, Executive Director and Associate Vice President on portfolio management and gift solicitation strategies. Segments and analyzes database to identify populations to be solicited; develops strategy to maximize result of solicitation to targeted population in support of CCAS Dean's fund and current operating campaigns.
Works with alumni directors, communications officers and event coordinators at school and university level to produce cultivation and stewardship events.
Expected to be an active partner within prospect tracking and management. Oversees data management for prospect pool to ensure the accurate capture of prospect tracking, stage progression, contact reports, proposals, philanthropic capacity/inclination and biographical data into Advance. Uses various reporting tools to monitor prospect data.
