Date: April 29, 2014 TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: P/T Senior Technical Assistant DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Center for the Arts (White Plains, NY) RESPONSIBILITIES: Westchester Community College Center for the Arts (White Plains, NY) seeks a P/T Senior Technical Assistant. The incumbent will provide lab-wide support from initial staging to installation of new hardware, software, and updates. S/he will troubleshoot and resolve all network and OS issues dealing with Apple and third party hardware and software. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve problems. S/he will also manage OS X Server, and maintain & optimize Apple computers with the latest securities and operating system updates. The P/T Senior Technical Assistant will support the maintenance, testing, and repairs or management of equipment repair processes with suppliers of Mac computer equipment and peripherals, sound and projection equipment, wireless network, Ethernet network, fiber optic security system, and various other input and output devices. The incumbent will also assist students, faculty, and staff with technical support of Apple desktop and laptop computers, applications, and related technology. S/he will supervise the P/T Technical Assistant, Mac Lab. QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a high school or equivalency diploma and 3 years of experience in the area of specialty. A Bachelor’s degree related to computer studies is preferred. Apple hardware experience within a computer network environment and maintenance is also preferred. Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT) is desirable. The successful candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds. 11.5 hours per week. SALARY & BENEFITS: $22.61 per hour. No benefits.
