Assistant Volleyball Coach/Assistant Equipment Manager - Athletics Department
Gettysburg College is seeking an Assistant Volleyball Coach/Assistant Equipment Manager to work in the Athletics Department. This is a full-time, 12 months, administrative position. The position will be responsible for assisting the Head Volleyball Coach in the areas of coaching, recruiting, academics, strength training, and video and computer technology and assisting the Head Equipment Manager in servicing 24 varsity sports in the areas of equipment/uniform disbursement, maintenance of inventory and laundry, field set-up and some student employee supervision. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Director of Athletics as required. Bachelor’s degree required; masters preferred. One to three years of volleyball coaching or experience as a student-athlete is required. Experience in the equipment room is preferred. Proven abilities in organizational and instructional aspects of coaching and demonstrated effectiveness in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes are required. Knowledge of supplies, equipment, software applications, ability to communicate orally and in writing, to work independently and as a team player, to provide excellent customer service, to work with a variety of individuals in a harmonious manner, to meet deadlines successfully and maintain professionalism and courtesy under hectic and demanding conditions. Certification within the Athletic Equipment Managers Association is highly desirable. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in the environment of an academically demanding liberal arts institution, following all NCAA Division III athletic philosophies and policies and willingness to develop new skills when necessary.
