Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The Associate Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship is an important partner in the strategic management of the University’s relationship with its top donors. He/she will participate in setting priorities for multiple short-term and long-term projects within the Office of Donor Relations and Stewardship and will help to identify and advance stewardship priorities. The Associate Director must establish and nurture effective, collegial working relationships with university colleagues, donors and other external constituencies as needed. He/she seeks to positively reinforce the philanthropic effort of donors, and assure their continued interest in and affection for the university by managing the Presidential and Vice Presidential acknowledgment process, the Celebration of Scholarships website and other Office of Donor Relations and Stewardship functions. In addition, he/she will work to accurately document donor intent, partner with colleagues to conceptualize donor recognition activities and research and resolve donor and development inquiries. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in English, Journalism or Communications. Experience: Minimum of five years experience in editing and communications required, preferably in development, financial aid and/or alumni/constituent/client relations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills required. Superior problem solving and strategic planning skills required. Strong customer service experience required. Ability to interact with donors and senior-level executives and administrators required. Ability to handle multiple tasks and strong adherence to deadlines required. Preferences: Working knowledge of development and event planning preferred. Knowledge of HTML, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator and In Design preferred. Additional Certifications: Additional Information: Physical Demands of the Position: Traditional office environment with much of time spent working with a computer.
