The Senior HRIS Analyst provides leadership and technical/functional expertise in the area of Reporting and Analytics, as well as technical guidance, support and solutions for end users of the HR/Payroll information system. This position is a Technical-Functional Analyst, developing and maintaining configurations of the software to meet business needs. He/she ensures that all reporting and informational requests are met through the creation of ad hoc reports and the use of standard reports. In addition, the Senior HRIS Analyst makes recommendations on new functionality/upgrades and leads the functional design, specifications and testing efforts for each. He/she is responsible for updating and maintaining end user security and tables, data integrity, and documentation and training. He/she independently resolves or collaborates with Information Technology Services (ITS) personnel to solve technical problems and manages and prioritizes (with direction from Director) the ongoing task list. The incumbent serves as the HRM contact with ITS with regard to HR System processes, functionality, upgrades, testing, business rule definition and cutover/implementation.
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. 6-8 years of experience in HRIS Strong working knowledge of the various HR functions (e.g. employment/staffing, compensation, and benefits administration) and payroll processes strongly preferred. SQL query language in report writing required. Advanced proficiency in Excel. Design, develop, and deploy complex reports and metrics; synthesize complex or diverse information; collect and research data; use intuition and experience to complement data. Proven capabilities in managing new functionality, upgrades, reporting, data integrity and system security. High level of attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills. Strong quantitative and critical thinking skills. Proven ability to manage competing priorities and multi-task in a high volume environment. Demonstrated effective interpersonal and customer service skills for effective communication with all employee levels. Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information. Prior experience in higher education is highly desirable.
