Director, English as a Second Language Program

The Prescott, AZ, campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) seeks an inaugural director of its English Language Institute program. Reporting directly to the Chair of the Department of Humanities/Communications, the director will provide vision, leadership, and curricular oversight of the new intensive English language program for international students, the Embry-Riddle Language Institute (ERLI).

The new ERLI at ERAU is a fully integrated intensive English program with the aim of involving its participants in the greater campus community. ERLI will comprise both semester based and summer offerings and will provide a culturally centered immersion environment for international students to quickly acquire English language skills, including technical English in disciplines such as engineering and aviation, while experiencing a residential American college campus. ERAU is committed to providing high quality English language instruction and cultural immersion.

 The inaugural director will be a person of vision and energy who is committed to the values of language and cultural immersion in a residential environment. Working closely with other members of the campus community in academic affairs and student life, the director will create a program that matches ERAU's standard for excellence while forming a new international presence on campus. The director will be responsible creating, directing, and growing the program; these duties include but are not limited to hiring and training faculty, scheduling classes, teaching courses, arranging cultural events and field trips, and working with marketing and residence life to attract new students and help integrate these new students with the existing student population.
