Position Summary: The New Media Department in the School of Arts & Communication invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non-tenure-track full/part-time Instructor positions to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2014-2015 academic year. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Director.
The primary mission of New Media Communications Program at OSU is undergraduate education. The program offers BA and BS degrees, and undergraduate minors in New Media. The collegial character of our faculty encourages collaborative research and teaching.
Position Duties: 100 % Teaching/Instruction.
Instructors may be needed to teach on campus and Ecampus New Media courses in the area of undergraduate New Media during Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer terms 2014-2015.

Minimum/Required Qualifications: M.A. or M.S. and/or equivalent professional experience to teach at the college level.
In order to receive consideration for professional/industry experience, applicants must have demonstrated success in at least three of the following areas: (1) successful teaching of post-secondary students; (2) statewide, national and/or international recognition by peers as an outstanding contributor in the private sector; (3) record as a paid contributor or freelance media professional over a period of no less than 5 years; (4) association with recognized media outlets and other formal performance venues; (5) collaborations with regionally, nationally or internationally recognized media professionals; (6) recognized acceptance of creative media endeavors involving media writing, including newspaper articles, magazine articles advertising copy, and public relations copy.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications: Teaching experience of the particular course and/or in the particular field.
