Job Description Summary

Coordinates the processes associated with federal and state financial aid fund reporting and reconciling insuring that approximate deadlines are met associated with federal, state and institutional compliance



Job Responsibilities

Monitor and process on a daily basis the students requesting federal direct subsidized and unsubsidized Student loans and , within federal regulations, determining student eligibility for loans

Run various Banner processes as well as write/run MS Access reports to facilitate the reconciliation of the federal and state grant programs.

Monitor on a bi-weekly basis those students reported as receiving funds from CCC as well as other educational institutions

Assist in the development of college-wide policies and procedures for awarding financial aid funds

Work with other departments in the college to answer questions and resolve student financial aid issues, such as campus Student Financial Aid Offices (loan eligibility calculations) and District Business Offices (billing students for funds to be returned to the Department of Education).

Process and maintain all electronic student records from the Department of Education (ED) as well as electronic rosters received from the Ohio Board of Regents to ensure proper payment of federal and state grants.

Maintain the imaged financial aid documents associated with student records for audit purposes and produce reports associated with the quality assurance associated with such documents.

Generate reports of federal aid overpayments to ED using the process required by ED as well as accurately report such overpayments in a timely manner.

Manage processes associated with book authorizations for all aid recipients and the movement of such money to the My Tri-C Card as well as the reconciliation associated with the movement of money between the different purses associated with the transaction software system and SunGard Higher Education Banner.



Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and two years of progressively responsible experience working with financial records

Experience researching and resolving issues related to financial records, reconciling financial records and generating reports.

Ability to write queries and macros within MS ACCESS.

Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and organizations.

Ability to use independent judgment as well as think critically.

Ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines

Proficiency in keyboarding, grammar and basic math, standard MS Word and Advanced Excel applications

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with BANNER
Knowledge of federal IRS rules relating to individual taxpayer returns
Skill in interpreting and applying rules and regulations to a variety of individual student situations and circumstances
Ability to understand how automated financial aid systems affect individual student records
Financial Literacy/Education Certification



Work Schedule

Standard College hours of business, Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm. Occasional weekends, special events, and peak registration periods may be required.
