SUMMARY: This professional staff member reports to the Associate Director of Student Financial Assistance for all assigned functions and is responsible for the oversight and reconciliation of the William D. Ford Direct Loan program in the Office of Student Financial Assistance with supervisory responsibilities of the appropriate staff. This staff member is also responsible for the management of the imaging system. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Maintains the University records associated with the Federal Direct Loan program which disburses over $108 million annually. Responsibilities include reviewing reports, problem resolution, and managing the monthly reconciliation efforts between the Common Origination and Disbursement system (COD) and Miami University records. -Supervises 2 full time staff members - Serves as liaison with the Direct Loan Servicers and with all private/alternative loan representatives. -Conducts an annual review of the private loan lender list and updates as necessary. -Assists with set up each year of the Direct Lending module and assists with testing of all new Direct Loan system releases. -Assists in reviewing and evaluating all federal regulations concerning Direct Loans to ensure that the delivery system is in compliance with these regulations. Reviews all loan policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulations and updates as necessary. -Provides general system support, including training, testing and maintenance of system security roles. -Manage the imaging system; testing, trainings, upgrades. Provide oversight and backup for the entry of received documents into the Banner system. -Serves on the core management team of the Office of Student Financial Assistance. -Performs other duties as assigned, including training and development of office policy on any assigned responsibilities. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Direct supervision of two classified staff (Student Services Technicians) QUALIFICATIONS: Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree with at least two years of relevant post-degree experience in a financial aid or equivalent office or an associate's degree and five years of relevant post-degree experience in a financial aid office; strong communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others; ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision; and excellent interpersonal, organizational and planning skills. Desired qualifications include knowledge of the Federal Direct Lending program, and experience with Ellucian Banner.
