Keene State College’s Financial Aid department invites applications for a financial aid professional. This position contributes to the strategic priorities of the college by providing access and educational opportunities to a diverse student population. Because the practice of financial aid is rapidly changing, we seek a capable yet flexible person. This is a full-time benefitted term position currently funded through June 30, 2015. Under the guidance of the Associate Director of financial aid, the successful candidate will share responsibilities for delivering financial aid to students. This includes coordination of the federal work study program; program responsibility for certification for state grant eligibility; will have responsibilities in the use and creation in the reporting environment; assisting in packaging and verification; counseling students and families in all areas of financial aid; working in collaboration with other offices and staff to maximize productivity and insure data integrity of student information system, and assisting to improve business processes as needed. Position Requirements include: one year experience working in financial aid administration and a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; outstanding customer service insight and experience; effective problem solving skills; an ability to work effectively under pressure and to learn complex materials easily; and demonstrated proficiency with computer applications. Additional desirable qualifications: experience providing complex services to college or university students; demonstrated proficiency with integrated student information system, Department of Education software and web based services; ability to comprehend, and comply with federal and state laws, regulations, and USNH and KSC policies pertaining to the provision of student financial aid; and presentation skills. Additionally, the College has identified desirable qualifications that support our commitment to creating and maintaining a diverse campus community including the ability to speak a second language or to bring a multicultural perspective to the campus. Anticipated starting salary range: $37,280-$42,200 normally not to exceed $47,130; commensurate with experience and complemented by a competitive benefits package. Traineeship may be considered for candidates who show the potential, but lack the experience required for position.
