SUMMARY DESCRIPTION Reporting to the associate dean of the faculty, the director of the Office of Field Study will provide faculty support and coordination in the development and execution of field coursework and undergraduate research conducted off campus in the United States. Our unique Block Plan makes field study and field undergraduate research at Colorado College unlike field experiences at most other institutions. Faculty members in all disciplines design and implement local and regional excursions to enhance student learning.. This new office and position will work with faculty to enhance their existing programs, as well as support faculty who are interested in incorporating field-based learning. This is a professional, administrative support position. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS A master's degree in a relevant field and 3 years' experience in professional and/or personal field work in higher education are required. The optimal candidate will be familiar with outdoor education, field work/research, and have a basic knowledge of field sciences in an academic setting. Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and planning skills are essential. Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of programs, and have a working knowledge of databases. The successful candidate will be committed to the mission of a liberal arts college, will support and contribute to the goal of achieving greater diversity at Colorado College, and will be able to work effectively with the many constituencies in a college environment.
