Capital Project Managers, Level I & II – Multiple Positions Available

The Design & Construction Mgt. Department is seeking applicants for the full time, benefited position(s) of Capital Project Managers, Level I & Level II. These position(s) are responsible for coordinating and managing capital project activities with in-house resources and external consultants.
Minimum Qualifications, Level I: Bachelor or first professional degree in architecture or engineering, or architectural registration in the State of Massachusetts prior to June, 1989; Registration as an architect or professional engineer (civil or structural, or mechanical) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or the ability to obtain Massachusetts registration in one year; More than five (5) years of experience managing complex design and construction projects; Working knowledge of architecture, engineering and design principles, building systems, code regulations and construction practices and the ability to apply this knowledge to complex problems; Ability to effectively manage and coordinate the work of consultants, contractors and others connected with this work. The position requires the ability to work independently and allocate resources consistent with Division goals; Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and various computer database systems used in professional management organizations; Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills; Demonstrated ability to access any portion of a construction/facility site including climbing ladders to assess conditions and perform inspections of existing facilities.
Minimum Qualifications, Level II: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field or a professional registration as an architect or engineer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or the ability to obtain a Massachusetts registration within one year; Five (5) years’ experience in design and construction; Working knowledge of architecture, engineering, construction management, design principles, systems, code regulations, and construction practices and the ability to apply this knowledge to complex problems; Ability to effectively coordinate this work with affected campus constituencies; Demonstrated oral and written communication skills; Demonstrated experience in word processing, spreadsheets, and other software based systems; Demonstrated ability to access any portion of a construction site.
Level I: Salary commensurate with skills and experience.
Level II: Hiring Salary Range: $55, 000 – $69,200
Normal Starting Range: $55, 000 – $62,100
