GENERAL DUTIES

I.T. Senior Associates perform highly complex professional work in technology-related disciplines.  While areas of specialization vary, typically I.T. Senior Associates perform a range of work in development/programming, communications, technical support, or similar functions depending on the needs of the Information Technology area to which they report.  Work tasks include diagnosing, evaluating, overseeing and resolving highly complex projects.  They have wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment and may serve in lead roles on complex programs or projects, and/or serve as a direct supervisor of a unit or group. 
 
I.T. Senior Associates should demonstrate mastery of one or more technology-related disciplines, decision-making ability in situations related to those disciplines, and be able to serve as a resource in these areas.  They may contribute to decisions on I.T. policies and technical standards.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

Reporting to the Director of the Multimedia Center/Lehman Studios, functions as the Manager of Media Technology Service overseeing a significant campus-wide operation, the Media Technology Services Department for Lehman College. 

- Responsible for the media technology in more than 200 College Technology Enhanced Classrooms.  This includes purchase, installation, maintenance, and monitoring of projectors, computers, screens, and related devices to support teaching and learning.
- Responsible for all loaner-equipment available to faculty and students relating to laptops, video cameras, A/V equipment, and related technology.  Oversees maintenance and repairs of audio/visual equipment for classroom installation and loaner systems.
- Conducts systems utilization and capacity planning analysis.
- Designs, programs, and troubleshoots.
- Serves as the administrator for the WebCheckout reservation system. Customizes software, recommends upgrades, and maintains entire system.  Supports faculty, staff, and students in the proper utilization of above equipment.
- Supports multimedia equipment planning, set-up, and operation at large campus events.
- Supports video conferencing technologies and related computing devices (hardware and software) across the college.
- Researches, recommends for purchase, and manages campus-wide media installations and Digital Signage System.
- Consults with the Information Technology Department's administration and with faculty to develop and implement multimedia projects for the college.
- As requested, assists and directs major audio and video recording projects.
- Serves as subject-matter expert regarding satellite broadcast and related digital technologies.
- Oversees two full-time positions and five part-time positions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1.High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
    
2.An equivalent of ten years of experience post-high school that can be met by one of the following: ten years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology related position; an Associate's degree plus eight years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus six years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position
  
3.Demonstrated English Language proficiency
   
4.A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.
  
This title has three levels.  In addition to the minimum qualifications above, To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient with the Extron and Crestron systems
- Knowledgeable in web streaming and video-conferencing hardware and software, e.g. Polycom, Cisco (Go-To-Meeting), Radvision, SAAS Solutions (Adobe Connect)
- Knowledge of video production, compression techniques, and workflow
- Familiar with satellite broadcast technology up-link and down-link, both analog and digital

COMPENSATION

$83,333
