Associate Director, Small Business Development Center
The University of St Thomas Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is accepting applications for an Associate Director.
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is part of the Schulze School of Entrepreneurship. The SBDC provides confidential business consulting services to help business owners develop strategies to attract customers, increase sales and improve profitability. The SBDC directly contributes to the UST Vision of community engagement.
The Associate Director will lead the SBDC community outreach effort to identify and support high-potential small businesses, collaborate with the business owners to develop and execute action plans that lead to profitability and growth, and provide in-depth one-on-one consulting services to achieve desired business outcomes. This position will also be responsible for client follow-up and the reporting of client outcomes in compliance with US Small Business Administration requirements and SBDC accreditation standards.
This position is also responsible for the supervision of the student administrative staff and the student consultants.
Required qualifications include the equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, marketing or a related field and experience owning or working with small businesses, including supervisory experience. MBA and experience working in a Small Business Development Center preferred.
Providing high-level guidance to business owners is a complex process requiring continuing education and awareness of business, economic and industry trends and issues.
