Job Description Summary:

Assist Financial Aid Director in administering federal, state, and institutional

financial aid funds and services, and provide direction for the operational functions of the department. Determine student eligibility for various types of financial aid; awards and distributes funds that apply. Reconciles various aid programs. Manages staff as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.

Four (4) years experience in student financial aid.

Ability to access all campus areas.

Requires thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations governing various types of aid.

Must be able to organize a heavy and varied workload.

Effective written and oral communication skills.

Computer proficiency and experience with SCT Banner.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree from an accredited institution.

Ability to lead change management.

Essential Duties Summary :

Advises students, parents, and staff in regard to factors which may affect their eligibility for financial aid.

Acts as liaison, when necessary, with other offices, both on and off campus, to help determine and resolve matters pertaining to students’ enrollment, accounts, and academic concerns which may affect eligibility for financial aid.

Awards federal, state, private monies and works with the Scholarship Coordinator to ensure over awards are avoided and awards are in compliance with applicable policy and regulations.

Assistants the Director in various areas of office management, staff management, including personnel and day to day office operations.

Reconciles and balances reports for various financial aid funds, including reporting to federal and state agencies.

May assist in administering Federal College Work Study program as appropriate.

Other duties as assigned and appropriate.
