Description:

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, a fully affiliated teaching site for the University of Toronto, is seeking a full-time Neuro-Psychiatrist for its Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic. The anticipated start date is June 1, 2014.

The Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic is situated in Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Canada's largest tertiary referral trauma centre, and provides behavioural assessments to patients with mild to moderate brain injuries. The Clinic's mandate is to assess and treat patients within three months of injury. Brain imaging (mMRI) and neuropsychological testing are integral to the clinic and a research component is built in to allow access to a large, longitudinal behavioural database.

The successful candidate should possess strong leadership skills with a capacity for team-building and fostering multi-disciplinary collaboration. The selected psychiatrist will be responsible for a combination of patient care and teaching of medical students, residents and fellows. He/She should be a clinician-scientist with a proven track record of independent scholarship in the neuroscience field with a focus on traumatic brain injury.

The candidates should be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and have or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Compensation is in accordance with the uniform average salary of a psychiatrist in the Province of Ontario (approximately  $196,867) as well as commensurate with qualifications and experience.
