Experience dynamic growth, self-directed effort, and a healthy work/life balance among our diverse easygoing group of professionals. *What you will do:* * Manage efficiency and accuracy of departmental records database and reporting processes by reviewing requests for data/information and systems or program modifications; * Ensure timely database clean-up; * Research and outline action steps and verify consistency with original request; * Produce information and system modifications; identify appropriate data sources; * Design program logic, create new code and/or modify existing code using various software tools; Test reports for accuracy, integrity of data, compliance with fiscal and regulatory requirements and compliance with University policies and procedures. * Manage ABS' data files and information systems infrastructure including cataloging, organizing and documenting all data files and systems; * Design and create new systems that manage, store and retrieve data to answer informational requests and to provide longitudinal tracking of institutional data. * Maintain ongoing open communication with Accounting & Business Support Team and incorporate their feedback into all deliverables; * Coordinate and conduct reporting demonstrations and strategic meetings with stakeholders. --- *What we can offer:* $60,000 - $70,000/year The University of Colorado offers excellent benefits, including medical, dental, retirement, paid time off, tuition reimbursement and ECO Pass. Minimum Qualifications: *What you have to have:* * A bachelor's degree in an information technology field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics, etc; * Minimum five years' experience in a higher education or related environment utilizing business intelligence software such as Cognos, Microstrategy BI, SAP Business Objects, or OBIEE; * Three to five years professional experience and proficiency using relational database systems and building complex queries to produce financial reports; * Experience optimizing file and database structures to facilitate analysis and reporting; * Strong set of broad technical skills and expertise with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software to analyze, organize and present information; * Experience in understanding, manipulating and querying large data sets with complex file structures; * Experience with PeopleSoft Finance or equivalent accounting software;
Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: *What you will need:* * Proficiency using advanced functions in personal computer software, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Access * Proven ability to design modern reports and dashboards * Solid understanding of relational databases, including SQL * Strong conceptual and logical data modeling skills * Demonstrated ability to work creatively to solve problems * Demonstrated responsiveness and ability to produce specified results within defined timelines Ability to manage difficult situations with poise and diplomacy * Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications, including public speaking, and interpersonal and organizational skills * Ability to write reconciliation and validation test cases
Desired Qualifications: *What we'd like you to have:* * Experience with Cognos; * Experience preparing reports based on PeopleSoft Finance and HRMS databases; * Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical issues to a diverse community; Experience writing code for others; * Experience with Drupal; * Web-design Experience; * Experience with training and assisting other co-workers; * Experience working with content management systems and their supporting software; * Familiarity with modern markup technologies and user-interface design techniques, including CSS; Master's degree in an IT or related analytical field; _Preferred qualifications may be used to further reduce the pool of applicants to those who are most highly qualified._
