Position Summary: Assistant or Associate Professor, Department of Internal Medicine at The University of Alabama - College of Community Health Sciences (University of Alabama School of Medicine -Tuscaloosa Campus), is seeking a part time, licensed eligible, MD or DO, for a part-time non tenure clinical track faculty position. Responsibilities include significant direct patient care, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows and research/scholarship.

Minimum Preferred Qualifications: THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA The Department of Internal Medicine in the College of Community Health Sciences at The University of Alabama is excited to announce the availability of a non tenure earning assistant or associate professor part time faculty position. Candidates must hold a MD or DO degree and be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine. Faculty duties include teaching medical students and family medicine residents in clinical training, engaging in scholarly activity, providing direct patient care, and administrative tasks typical for a faculty appointment. The College of Community Health Sciences is dedicated to primary care and to preparing physicians for practice, particularly in rural or underserved areas. The outpatient facilities are based in a new 77,000 square foot building on the UA campus. Inpatient training occurs at DCH Regional Medical Center, which serves a seven county area in West Alabama. The Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program is unopposed and has graduated over 400 physicians in its 40-year history. The college also serves as a branch campus for the University of Alabama School of Medicine, and trains seventy third and fourth year medical students as a part of its mission.
