Job Summary This position will work directly under and closely with the principal investigator performing laboratory bench work. Regular duties include maintaining Drosophila stocks/behavioral assays; performing molecular cloning of recombinant DNA fragments; DNA sequencing; polymerase chain reaction (PCR); making culture media; and making stock solutions and buffers. Periodic duties include disposing of bio-hazardous, chemical and radioactive waste and in situ hybridization using Drosophila embryos, and assisting graduate students in large-scale mutant screens.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and no experience or equivalent combination required. Area-specific certification may be required and training will be provided as appropriate (i.e. UGA HazMat training).
