Duties and Responsibilities - In concert with the Athletic Director, directs and provides media information for sixteen (16) intercollegiate sports, and implements appropriate actions and strategies within areas of responsibility. - Adheres to NCAA Division II, Mountain East Conference, and Fairmont State University rules and regulations for its 16 sport programs as it relates to all aspects of sports information. - Seeks professional relationships with media that will benefit the visibility and reputation of the athletic program. - Works with coaches and others to identify, prioritize, establish and accomplish sports information objectives. - Creates, edits, plans and manages all content on FightingFalcons.com. - Coordinates to ensure that workers are hired and assigned to cover the various game management functions required for each sporting event, such as public address announcer, scoreboard, live streaming video, and other functions. - Maintains a successful social media presence through relevant outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, & YouTube). - Supports athletic department with external media relations and photo days; creating and developing press releases, game notes for media, media guides, game programs, sports schedules, posters, athletic recruiting materials, and other athletic department printed material. - Interacts effectively and responsively with coaches, athletes, staff, students, and community members. - Gathers, maintains, and posts NCAA required statistics; adhere to all NCAA rules, regulations and expectations. - Maintains team and individual records and photo archives. - Operates in-game scoring statistical programs. - Assists with marketing and development initiatives and contributes to the overall strategic initiatives of the department. - Performs related work as assigned or as necessary.

Minimum Required Education Bachelor's degree in business administration, sport management, communications, or other related field; master's degree in a relevant discipline preferred.

Required Licenses and/or Certifications None.

Type and Amount of Experience Needed A minimum of two years (2) years of experience (full-time, part-time, or internship) in intercollegiate athletics or a related field. The successful candidate should possess excellent working knowledge of NCAA of athletics statistics, excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications - Demonstrated skill in developing and attaining goals, as well as meeting deadlines. - Strong work ethic supported by commitment and follow-through, and a strong commitment for University's and Department of Athletics' mission and values. - Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex relationships and to be a proven collaborator with strong teamwork skills. - Demonstrated ability to work successfully with both internal and external constituencies. - Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as an integral part of a team approach. - Proven effective communications skills and the ability to speak credibly and persuasively about higher education, student athletes and the aspirations of the University and Athletics, and proven skill in written and oral presentations. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and milieu, maintaining demanding timeframes for accomplishments. - Ability to plan, implement and coordinate sports information-related activities. - Proven research and writing skills. - Exceptional ability to interact successfully on a one-on-one basis with coaches and student-athletes. - Ability to prioritize, set, and to accomplish objectives. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and tools.

Special Conditions Position will involve overnight travel in-state and out-of-state and requires attendance at athletic events. Technical skills include: knowledge of StatCrew; Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, InDesign); video editing; & webcasting/streaming services.
