Associate Vice President - Facilities Planning


Under the direction of the Vice President of Finance and Administration, provides strategic leadership, coordination, and administrative oversight to the integrated facilities planning, physical plant management, and real estate functions of the university and its various ancillary locations.  Plans and evaluates the performance of programs in accordance with institutional policies and procedures. Guides the facilities directors as they solve administrative problems and perform program and staff evaluations. Directs facilities planning functions, including the development of strategic and long-range plans as well as the university’s master plan.

Graduation from an accredited institution with a master's degree related closely to the area of responsibility and three years full-time experience in a strategic administrative function, OR a bachelor's degree related closely to the area of responsibility and five years full-time experience in a strategic administrative function.


  • Advanced skills in principles, methods and techniques leadership and effective coordination of multiple institutional programs and initiatives.
  • Skill in business and financial planning and management.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Skill in advanced verbal and written communication and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
  • Skill in organizational planning, structuring and staffing.
  • Employee development and performance management skills.
  • Ability to develop various reports including graphs, tables, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to effectively manage several budgets.Ability to establish and implement cohesive and synergistic business strategies on an institution-wide basis.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to deal with personnel issues and relate to trades personnel as well as Administrative personnel.
