Duties: The Manager of International Research and Program Development participates in strategic planning for business development in the English Language Programs and for international initiatives in the Professional and Liberal Education (PLE) Group. This position engages in and supports research into international initiatives for both ELP and PLE. The Manager supports new program design and oversees the financials of new and existing custom programs. This position supervises the Coordinator of Marketing and International Relations and has a dotted line report to the Associate Director of Market and Institutional Research at PLE. The Manager will also coordinate programs, teach in, or design curriculum for ELP programs.
MA in TESOL or Applied Linguistics and a minimum of 2 years of experience teaching in an IEP with coordination and curriculum design experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. 3-5 years of teaching experience preferred. Experience in research to promote program design and reach target markets. Experience communicating with a wide range of international stakeholders or clients. Demonstrated ability to manage a busy and complex portfolio of responsibilities. Able to lead teams and be a member of a team to attain successful outcomes. Outstanding written and oral communication skills. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (some evening and weekend events). Must be willing to travel domestically or internationally a few times a year.
Business background or degree. Experience with budgeting. Experience supervising staff. Understanding and competency in a second language and strong understanding of cross-cultural issues and their relevance in the higher education context. Experience living and working abroad.
