Job Description
The University of Nevada School of Medicine (UNSOM) is currently seeking an Adult Psychiatry Residency Director at the level of Associate or
Full Professor.

This will be a full-time, non-tenure track position. The Residency Director is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the four years of general psychiatry training. These include recruiting new residents, overseeing the seminars for all four years of training, discipline and remediation as needed, maintaining appropriate relationships with clinical partners, involving department faculty in residency teaching, ensuring compliance with national guidelines, and other resident career development activities as needed. The incumbent will also provide direct clinical care in clinical settings affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry.

Required Qualifications
Applicants must have an MD, DO or equivalent degree with successful completion of an accredited Psychiatric residency; must be ABPN certified in general psychiatry within two years of hire date; must have excellent communications skills, teaching experience, program leadership experience, sub specialty training and previous publication in biomedical journals; must be eligible for an unrestricted Nevada medical license, malpractice insurance and must be able to be successfully credentialed by Northern Nevada teaching hospitals.
