Instructional Designer Anderson University’s Office of Instructional Design invites applications for a full-time Instructional Designer. This full-time professional position works directly with Associate Provost for Educational Innovation and the AU Online team. Anderson University is a comprehensive, liberal arts institution affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Work collaboratively to design and develop online and blended courses in cooperation with campus colleges and departments; high-quality training and professional development experiences for faculty; and online instructor and student tutorials and resources • Incorporate instructional design models, best practices in online learning, and current educational technologies to promote effective teaching and enhanced learning experiences • Help facilitate administrative aspects of course development, delivery, and support • Provide assistance with planning and coordinating materials with course instructor(s) Required Qualifications • Masters degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology or other related fields or comparable experience within higher education • Demonstrated experience in online learning and working with faculty, understanding online pedagogy and instructional design models/learning theories • Experience working collaboratively and independently • Experience and demonstrated competence in working with learning management/online learning systems • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally • Ability to track and mange complex and multiple projects in a fast paced environment • This position may include some evening work Preferred Qualifications • Demonstrated experience in teaching in online, blended, and/or traditional learning environments. • Proven ability to stay current with rapidly changing technologies • Experience with collaborative learning environments such as Adobe Connect • Experience with social networking and collaboration tools in synchronous and asynchronous learning environments Submit letter of interest, resume, and Anderson University staff application to: bdeaton@andersonuniversity.edu Or, mail these documents to: Dr. Ben Deaton Anderson University 316 Boulevard Anderson, SC 29621 Anderson University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of diversity within its faculty, staff, and students.
