GENERAL DUTIES

Supports the administration of College athletic programs.

-Assists with compliance programs activities required by the CUNYAC (CUNY Athletic Conference) and external bodies

-Serves student-athletes through providing advising services and enrichment programs

-Organizes student-athlete communications and activities, and other department work such as calendars, materials, reports, handbooks, and compliance manuals

-Performs related duties as assigned.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

The Student Athletics Program Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
- Assists the Director of Athletics and Intramurals with the day-to-day operations of the program.
- Works with Web Services on the development and implementation of information and marketing materials for the website.
- Compiles reports on statistics for NCAA and CUNY requirements.
- Compiles reports on programs and activities.
- Coordinates scheduling of facilities and programs.
- Attends all of the athletic program events when possible and works in conjunction with the Director to coordinate and cover all home events.
- Assists in the review of all student-athletes' eligibility compliance.
- Maintains student files and records; documents all pertinent student information; and updates computerized information system regarding changes to student status.
- Assists the Director to ensure all coaches have a working knowledge of and follow all National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC), Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC), and City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) rules and regulations.
- Coordinates with all coaches in planning and developing team budgets and assists the Director of Athletics in the development of the sports budget.
- Assists the Director with fundraising activities.
- Coordinates the activities of outside groups who use the College's athletic facilities and assists with or monitors the monthly calendar of College's gymnasium activities.
- Serves as liaison to athletic conference offices in which Medgar Evers College holds membership such as the NCAA, ECAC, HVWAC, CUNYAC.
- Supervises athletic interns and other staff as assigned.

May be required to work some evenings

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree required

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

- Two years working in a college athletic department preferred
- Strong oral and writing skills
- Knowledge and experience in budgeting, purchasing, and insurance claims processing preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance policies

COMPENSATION

Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
