Job Description Summary:
Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and 6 years of appropriate experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.


Desired Qualifications:

Six years of higher education fundraising.

Experience in a multi-unit university is particularly sought.

Proven track record of major gift fundraising for gifts of $100,000 to $1 million.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Strong verbal and writing skills.

Capital Campaign experience desired.


Special Instructions to Applicants:

Job Duties
  • Supervises and manages three major gift officers (Senior Associate, Associate and Assistant Directors of Development) and their support staff.

  • Identifies, cultivates and solicits a major gift portfolio of 80-100 prospects for gifts of $100,000 to $1 million through significant local and national travel, and occasional international travel. Works collaboratively with the Dean, the Assistant Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations, and Central Development and Alumni Relations colleagues to create and implement strategies leading to major, planned, principal and annual gifts for SEAS.

  • Oversees data management for prospect pool to ensure the accurate capture of prospect tracking, stage progression, contact reports, proposals, philanthropic capacity/inclination and biographical data into Advance. Uses various reporting tools to monitor prospect data. Expected to be an active partner within prospect tracking and management.

  • Works collaboratively with the Dean, the Assistant Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations, and Central Development and Alumni Relations colleagues to create and implement strategies leading to major, planned, principal and annual gifts for SEAS.

  • Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
