Under the direct supervision of the Director of New Student Orientation and Parent/Family Programs, the Orientation Program Coordinator will manage multiple budget indexes which will also include completion of each budget reconciliation, expense reconciliation, procurement accounting for monthly procurement card statements, and ensure all reconciliation is turned in to budget offices monthly. Ensure all supply ordering, vendor relations, contracts and payments are current. In terms of programming and communications, the Orientation Program Coordinator will assist with programs and events planning and management, to include: web and mobile app content management, creation and execution of social media strategy, and implementation of assessment and evaluation of programs. Manages relations with key constituents and communicates with vice presidents, deans, students, families, senior staff and their staffs. Position may require evening and weekend hours.
Bachelors required, Masters degree(s) preferred in Higher Education, Communications, Marketing or related field. The qualified candidate will possess a minimum of 1-3 years of progressively responsible experience in a higher education setting and/or related field. The position requires initiative; strategic thinking, evaluative, and planning skills; creative program development skills; excellent writing and communication (both oral and written) skills; interpersonal skills; website content development and management; social media and outreach skills; and budget management. The coordinator must possess the ability to skillfully complete projects under tight deadlines. Must be detail-oriented, able to perform a variety of tasks, able to work with confidential information and prioritize tasks and demands. Must be able to work and make decisions independently, to exercise discretion and good judgment in areas of responsibility. Must have experience and generally good computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc…Experience with Banner Finance a plus as well as demonstrated proficiency with social media.
