Required Qualifications: Education - Minimum: J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school; membership in the State Bar of Georgia. Experience - Minimum: Three to five years of experience as an attorney. Demonstrated capacity for legal reasoning and for clear and concise oral and written communication; excellent interpersonal relations, and conflict resolution skills. Preferred Experience - Experience in a university or public sector environment. Physical Requirements: Vision Hearing Speaking Proposed Salary: $31,000 Essential Duties of the Position: Confers with University Attorney and assists in analyzing on a wide variety of legal matters/topics, including issues relating to regulatory compliance, constitutional law, general business and contractual matters, and employment law. . Assists University Attorney in preparing policies, and legal opinions. . Assists University Attorney in preparing and/or revising contracts. . Assists University Attorney in monitoring and coordinating litigation assigned to external counsel. . Assists University Attorney in formulating and implementing institutional strategies for preventing legal problems. . Assists University Attorney in conducting seminars & programs, etc. . As requested, serves on various University committees and represents the University Attorney.
