The Recreation Education/Therapeutic Recreation Program in the Department of Health Sciences at Lehman College of the City University of New York invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank to begin Fall 2014. The Program currently enrolls over 100 undergraduates and over 60 graduate students, comprising the largest graduate enrollment in therapeutic recreation in the U.S. The Department has additional programs in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, Exercise Science, Health Education, Health Services Administration, and Public Health with a dynamic faculty and over 1000 students. Responsibilities include teaching, research, student advising, serving on departmental and college committees and other functions. Faculty will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Lehman College based centers and institutes on research and other projects of scholarly interest.


Ph.D. degree in Recreation/Leisure Studies/Therapeutic Recreation, or related area with Master's degree in Recreation field. Also required are the demonstrated ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or scholarly achievement, ability to cooperate and work with others for the good of the institution, active in professional organizations, and commitment to students.
