The FLA Advisor is responsible for the daily activities of his/her cohort of students in the FLA program.  Reporting to the FLA Supervisor, the advisor focuses on the following for student advancement and success: monitoring their progress, providing ongoing support, and promoting their academic persistence/success.

The FLA Advisor (FAA) will oversee and guide student transition progress from the point of admission.  Reporting directly to the FLA Program Supervisor, and working collaboratively with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and the faculty coordinators, the FAA will participate in advisement and registration as well as refer students to all appropriate support services, including, but not limited to, tutoring, academic advisement, counseling, career services, and financial aid.  The FAA will assist in developing, implementing, and assessing an Early Alert System to proactively create ongoing contact with FLA students to ensure success both in and out of the classroom.  The FAA will assist in the planning of specific activities including FLA orientation and workshops and act as resource of faculty regarding student concerns.  Some evening and weekend hours will be required.  The FAA will perform other related duties as assigned by the Freshman Academy Program Supervisor.
