Directs College activities and operations related to Academic matters to support academic policy and student learning strategies.

-  Designs, implements and monitors an array of academic initiatives, programs, priorities, and functions

-  Develops strategic plans, academic program proposals, and curricular reports

-  Assesses outcomes to improve services and support student success

-  Creates and oversees academic support initiatives

-  Administers College articulation efforts

-  Ensures compliance with accreditation standards and reporting requirements

-  Liaisons with faculty and professional staff in departments and offices across the College

-  Manages operational and program budgets; manages, trains, and develops staff

-  Performs related duties as assigned.


Higher Education Officer




Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, the Director will be responsible for the supervision of all curricular reports, committees, and compliance requirements for the institution. 

This will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Directing the compilation, verification, and dissemination of academic information such as curricula and courses, and additions, deletions, and changes in existing curricula and courses, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Overseeing the creation of all reports and analyzing all data leading to governance approval, including College Curriculum committee transmittals and agenda and Chancellor/University reports.
- Supervising all aspects of CUNY Common Core compliance including supporting departmental representatives in the preparation of submissions, overseeing submissions, and the review of programs and courses.
- Serving as primary administrative liaison to College Curriculum Committee.
- Serving as principle compliance officer working with departments to ensure adherence to State Education Department, University, and College policies.
- Serving as Chair of College Catalog Committee working with Registrar, department chairs, and the Office of College Publications.
- Serving as Chair of College-wide Committee for Academic Coordination.
- Overseeing senior college/community college articulation agreements and jointly registered programs.


Bachelor's Degree and eight years' relevant experience required.


Baccalaureate Degree required; Master's degree preferred. Eight (8) years of previous experience in higher education academic administration. Candidates should have excellent writing, organizational and interpersonal skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Access; and competence within a digital workplace. Knowledge of University placement practices, transfer policies, and CUNYfirst preferred.


$68,803 - $88,418


CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification. Health benefits are also extended to retirees who meet the eligibility criteria.
