Duties: Develop strong working relationships with of investigators in the School of Engineering and Applied Science, School of Arts and Science, and Radiology and Radiation Oncology Departments in the School of Medicine. Manage the patent, marketing and licensing matters for technologies with commercial potential. Facilitate the establishment of research collaborations with industry. Negotiate licenses for intellectual property with established and startup companies. Requires some experience in academic technology transfer office or entry level business development in corporate environments.
Qualifications: M.S. required, Ph.D. preferred with a minimum of 2-3 years work related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; excellent organizational skills; some experience in negotiating commercialization agreements with industry and university faculty; ability to analyze complex research studies for potential commercial development; some experience negotiating contracts in a university setting preferred; time management and prioritization skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; independent self-starter with strong work ethic; team player; good attention to details, follow-through and closing.
