Position Summary: The School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Oregon State University invites applications for one or more temporary part-time and/or full-time, fixed-term, non-tenure track instructor positions to teach on a term by term basis for the 2013-2014 academic year. Reappointment is at the discretion of the School Head. Salary is competitive and will be negotiated with the School Head.

The School of Civil and Construction Engineering offers B.S., M.S., M.Eng. MBE, and Ph.D. degrees. The School has approximately 950 undergraduate majors and 150 graduate majors. The faculty includes 32 members, with areas of specialization that including construction engineering management, geomatics engineering, geotechnical engineering, infrastructure materials engineering, ocean and coastal engineering, structural engineering, surveying, transportation engineering, and water resources engineering.

Position Duties: 100% teaching: Instructors may be needed to teach courses in undergraduate and graduate in areas of specialization that includes construction engineering management, geomatics engineering, geotechnical engineering, infrastructure materials engineering, ocean and coastal engineering, structural engineering, surveying, transportation engineering, water resources engineering, statics, and information technology (Excel, VBA, and Matlab), computer-aided drafting (Autodesk and AutoCAD), or application of engineering software (Land Development Desktop, Civil 3-D).

Working Conditions/Work Schedule:

Minimum/Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Civil or Construction Engineering or related discipline.

Demonstrated knowledge and ability to teach a course in the subject/field of instruction.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications: PhD in Civil or Construction Engineering or related discipline.

Professional experience related to civil or construction engineering practice.

Teaching experience at a College or University level.

A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
