Placement Range: $32,200 - $35,000

General Description: The Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for receiving, evaluating, and verifying student financial aid application data to determine eligibility for and award federal, state, institutional financial aid. Student eligibility is determined in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, policies and procedures. A person in this position is responsible for advising students on matters of financial aid eligibility, providing general information regarding student financial assistance programs, and for using professional judgment in considering individual student requests for special consideration, satisfactory academic progress, dependency overrides. Financial Aid Advisors are assigned a specific program or service function as part of their overall duties.The Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for quality direct service to student financial assistance applicants and recipients at the Financial Aid Office front counter. Through participation in outreach and intervention efforts, the Financial Aid Advisor informs prospective students of financial assistance programs and services.Through college wide activities focused on student success,the Financial Aid Advisor contributes to overall college goals.

Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree Minimum of at least one year of experience in a position serving students, or customers in a service related business.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated commitment to quality student or client services. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with individuals or groups. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Basic math skills. Commitment to performing work in a confidential, ethical, and professional manner. Available to work a flexible schedule as needed to successfully perform the duties of this position.
