Open Rank Professor (Tenure Track)
The position requires an earned doctorate in literacy education with expertise in literacy assessment and in the diagnosis of reading difficulties; Experience in teaching at the elementary, middle or high school level; and An active research agenda and research-based knowledge of teaching and learning is required. The successful candidate would need to demonstrate excellence in teaching and service, but also, and most importantly, to have developed a line of research literacy in assessment and the diagnosis of reading difficulties, leading to national recognition in literacy education. Candidates with knowledge and experience teaching in urban schools and environments, in working with second language learners, and in using technology to enhance student learning are preferred. Travel is required to the five Chicago area campuses.
