Job Description Summary:
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor''s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus eight years of relevant experience. Degree requirements may be substituted for an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.


Desired Qualifications:

Experience as an on-the-record spokesperson is required. Demonstrated management/supervisory experience and strong writing and editing skills.

Job Duties
  • Enhances and develops short-term and long-term strategic goals for the online strategy, photo and video teams, to support the growth of the university''s web presence and digital footprint.

    Oversees the online strategy, photo and video teams in the management and production of original creative written and visual communication and marketing deliverables for the promotion of GW initiatives in all areas of the university.

    Develops and implements standards, best practices and innovation for team work flow and project management processes in support of project deliverables across multimedia platforms including web, photos, and video.

    Identifies, develops and supports the professional development of a diverse team of subordinate managers and all of their team members, by facilitating team building and knowledge sharing through leadership and organizational structure.

    Directs budgetary spending and contributes to overall budget planning for marketing and creative services.

  • Directs and assesses proposed new marketing strategies in support of university initiatives., e.g., online publications, social media strategy, mobile applications and others through competitive research and business analysis and provides recommendations to leadership.

    Collaborates with executive management across the university to identify innovative marketing opportunities, and develop plans and action steps to introduce enterprise level tools; identifying internal (IT) and external (contractors) resources to meet these needs.

    Develops and maintains benchmarks to measure and analyze the impact of strategic marketing initiatives and make adjustments as warranted.

  • Informs university policies related to visual identity and digital communication including but not limited to, web presence, social media, and universal analytics.

  • In support of university wide strategic initiatives, evolves the GW brand collaboratively across multiple constituents, including but not limited to, current students, prospective students, alumni, donors, schools and colleges, and administrative departments.

  • Represents the AVP and serves as her deputy at meetings and special committees where appropriate.

  • Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
