Financial Aid Counselor
The Financial Aid Counselor will advise financial aid applicants on topics such as eligibility requirements to receive federal, state, and institutional aid. This position will also process both state and federal financial aid. Essential Duties Advises financial aid applicants on eligibility requirements. Monitors eligibility status of award recipients. Reviews accuracy of financial aid applications. Resolves discrepancies in student files. Reviews student appeals. Monitors existing awards in order to keep students informed of remaining amounts. Speaks to groups of students, parents, etc. concerning financial award availability and requirements. Travels to the Camden Center on a regular basis to counsel financial aid students. Processes and maintains student financial aid files. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and one-year financial aid experience supplemented by student counseling experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Banner Student Information System and Microsoft Office Programs.
