Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree and one year of experience.

Experience with grants, or experience in the finance field. Experience with Microsoft Excel or equivalent software.

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. Ability to review and reconcile financial data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Ability to effectively train and direct the work of others.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously with success and accuracy.

Background Check Requirements
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check to include fingerprinting.

Preferred
Prior work experience in a University System as coordinator for pre-award and post-award activities of federal, state, local and private contracts/grants and other types of awards and agreements. Experience interpreting and applying related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations. Knowledge of federal, state and private sources for contract and grant funds.

Schedule
Schedule 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities
Lead grant administrator for the department; supervises and trains Grant Compliance Associates. Reviews reconciliation reports generated by employees and assists in resolving problems and queries. Serves as a department liaison to College, University, and State offices. Audits and reconciles fiscal activities and transactions of grants (Federal, State, and Private) assigned to this position. Monitors expenditures to ensure compliance as well as budget availability. Assists Principal Investigators (PI) with various phases of pre-award and post-award activities. Responsible for balancing and reconciling accounts and submitting monthly reports to PI and department managers. Assists department in establishing new grant management programs and recommends policies and procedures related to grants activities. Maintains contract files and advises Department Administrator, Chair, and Faculty of the status of grants including end dates, to ensure timely and effective utilization of funds.
