The Department of Kinesiology, Recreation & Sport (KRS) at Western Kentucky University (WKU) invites applications for a nine-month, tenure track, Assistant Professor position beginning in the fall semester of 2014.

The Department
The KRS Department is housed within the College of Health and Human Services and offers undergraduate programs in Physical Education Teacher Education, Sport Management, Exercise Science, and Recreation Administration as well as graduate programs in Recreation & Sport Administration and Kinesiology. Primary responsibilities of this position involve teaching, service, scholarship, and advisement in support of the department’s graduate program in Recreation & Sport Administration with a concentration in Sport Media & Branding. The successful candidate will work with program faculty and staff to continue development and growth of the graduate program. The candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, evidence of effective teaching, ability to teach a variety of courses within the graduate program, and a commitment to service and scholarship. We seek candidates with a strong commitment to serving the needs of an increasingly diverse, multicultural, and technology-focused student population. This position will be filled with a professional desiring to engage collaboratively with other professionals at the local, national, and international levels.

Minimum Qualifications
• Candidate should hold a doctorate in sport management or a closely related field
• Two years of full time college teaching
• Curriculum development experience
• Online teaching skills and experience

Rank and Salary
Rank is at the Assistant Professor level and salary is commensurate with education and academic experience.
