Senior Philanthropic Officer/Corporate & Foundation
The Senior Philanthropic Officer is a member of the fundraising team and is responsible for a wide range of large gift fund raising activities throughout the United States. The Senior Philanthropic Officer is responsible for managing relationships with foundations and corporations, managing 75-100 donor prospects; identifying, cultivating and soliciting target corporations, foundations and prospective individual donors, as well as providing appropriate stewardship of gifts from these constituencies. Gifts will be sought for projects of both capital and program natures. The incumbent is responsible for identifying and promoting major gift prospect relationships and developing long range plans for donor development. The Senior Philanthropic Officer represents the Vice Chancellor as assigned, and collaborates with campus leaders, the Chancellor’s Office, and other Institutional Advancement staff including those in the Foundation and Alumni Office to secure gifts for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, with regard to foundations and corporations. The Senior Philanthropic Officer also may represent the campus at system-wide strategy meeting sessions and activities, as assigned by the Vice Chancellor. EXPERIENCE: Significant fund raising experience with demonstrated gift success from corporations and foundations; specific successful campaign experience is required, preferably from a higher educational environment. OTHER: Frequent local, regional and national travel is a requirement, as is flexibility in work hours to include evenings and weekends in order to successfully accomplish objectives and satisfy goals.
