The Classification and Compensation analyst develops, administers, and maintains compensation programs and responds to compensation and classification inquiries. This is accomplished by analyzing and evaluating compensation programs, conducting market pricing, and preparing recommendations. This role also manages the FTE position database to ensure Clemson's compliance with state position management.
COMPENSATION ANALYSIS AND BENCHMARKING - E/55%
-Reviews, researches, and gathers information to perform in-depth job analysis and makes recommendations in support of classification and compensation requests. Audits to ensure compliance.
-Counsels and advises faculty and staff on issues pertaining to classification and compensation including one-on-one training as needed.
-Conducts desk audits to maintain equitable organizational structure, classification and compensation.
-Performs job benchmarking and market pricing, and participates in various salary surveys.
POSITION MANAGEMENT AND SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION - E/45%
-Manages position maintenance activities in PeopleSoft and State systems for over 5,000 positions by entering data to create, delete, and modify existing positions.
-Manages FTE positions in the State system, PeopleSoft, and the Access-based FTE database. Approves new positions, transfers and terminations of positions.
-Updates the Salary justification database in support of the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act.
A bachelor's degree and experience in human resources management programs.
PREFERRED IN ADDITION TO THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field; at least three years' directly related experience performing job and compensation analysis and market pricing/survey submissions. A Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or a related field; certified compensation professional (CCP) designation; and HRIS (PeopleSoft) experience is desired.
PAY & WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 06 ($ 40,0000 - $55,000)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Advanced Excel skills (e.g., look-ups, mathematical formulas, pivot tables) and Microsoft Access experience is required.
