Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Deliver presentations in-person and via electronic technologies (webinars) pertaining to loan repayment, borrowers rights and responsibilities, as well as, college affordability. 
  • Ensure all students departing the university participate in an Exit Loan Counseling session and are aware of their loan responsibility
  • Manage and coordinate loan counseling outreach communication campaigns (entrance and exit counseling, as well as, financial awareness counseling) 
  • Assist in the ongoing evaluation and revision of established default management procedures, as well as, financial literacy brochures and collateral
  • Collaborate with University community to identify appropriate opportunities to drive student financial literacy engagement
  • Coordinate, promote and participate in special events and seminars to promote financial awareness in the community
  • Manage a student financial peer program
  • Ensure compliance with US Department of Education policies and guidelines

The successful applicant must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related area or equivalent education and experience
  • 2 – 4 years’ experience in a similar role within a financial aid office 
  • Experience in the complexity and regulatory areas of financial aid
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office products
  • Experience with a Student Information System (SIS), Ellucian Colleague preferred
