GENERAL DUTIES

Supports projects, initiatives, and activities that impact an academic or administrative department.

- Manages basic office functions such as communications, meeting schedules, work plans, staff assignments, and distributing information.

- Collects data for, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.

- Updates office databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s); maintains department archives and collections.

- Conducts internet and/or database research and performs basic systems queries to locate information related to department activities.

- Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and invoice processing.

- Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department.

- May supervise office staff and student workers. 

- Performs related duties as assigned.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

In support of the Queens College mission, strategic goals, and plans, the Office of the Dean of Social Sciences (ODSS) seeks to fill one Administrative Coordinator position.

This position entails coordinating the AACSB accreditation process, which is underway at the College. The Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for collecting, preparing, and maintaining all of the documentation and other record keeping; establishing tracking mechanisms for learning outcomes, job placements, and other data as required by AACSB; and handling the distribution of information across academic departments and other administrative functions. The Administrative Coordinator also will be responsible for scheduling site visits from the AACSB mentor and reviewers, and coordinating a wide range of internal meetings needed for accreditation.

The Administrative Coordinator will also coordinate college-wide business events such as the Business Advisory Board Meetings and the Zucaro Lecture series, as well as assist with the Business Forums and any other college-wide business related events. The Administrative Coordinator will maintain calendars, schedules, and key dates and will be responsible for maintaining content on the newly forming Business Programs website on the QC website. The Administrative Coordinator will also be responsible for handling administrative duties associated with the Masters of Science in Risk Management interdisciplinary program. Such duties include handling and responding to student inquires and requests via telephone, email, and in person.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with university accreditation processes preferred
- Proficiency in the use of Excel, MS Access, SharePoint, HTML, and MS Project
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- At least two years of experience in higher education including extensive contact with faculty, staff, and students preferred

COMPENSATION

Commensurate with experience.
