Job Description: The University of Florida College of Medicine, Division of Geriatric Medicine in Gainesville is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Geriatricians for full-time, non-tenure, clinician educator track faculty position in a fast growing academic environment. Responsibilities: The Division of Geriatric Medicine, Department of Aging and Geriatric Research is inviting applications at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level. Depending on the candidates' preference and background, this position offers the opportunity for involvement in various clinical and educational environments: trauma, ambulatory palliative care, acute care surgery, inpatient and outpatient consults, primary care or long term care in skilled nursing facilities; clinical research; medical directorship; clerkship directorship, teaching students, residents, and geriatric fellows; clinical programs development; and other venues. Sharing on-call to provide telephone coverage for nights, weekends, holidays, vacation, CME, etc. will be expected. The clinical duties are subject to realignment based on the growth of the services.
Minimum Requirements: Minimum qualifications: commitment to geriatric patient care, eligibility to work in the US, residency-trained Internist or Family Medicine (D.O. or M.D.), fellowship training in geriatrics, and/or Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine; eligibility for Florida Medical license, DEA license, and appropriate Board certification or eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred qualifications: demonstrated experience in one or more of the following fields: palliative care, trauma, long term care, geriatric inpatient and outpatient care; interest in building programs and leading groups; interest in resident/fellow education; interest in clinical research.
