Job Description Summary:
Minimum Qualifications:

Sr. School Research Administrator: A Bachelor''s Degree and three years of experience in a related field.

School Research Administrator: A Bachelor''s Degree in an appropriate field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, plus a minimum of three years of administrative and financial experience in higher education research administration, research support programs or related function.


Desired Qualifications:

A minimum of three years of administrative and financial experience in higher education research administration, research support programs or related function.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Proficiency in the use of personal computers and various office application software programs, to include spreadsheets and database management.
Experience submitting proposals with federal agencies and foundations.
Experience with financial grants management.
Knowledge of enterprise software (e.g., Oracle, Banner, Cayuse) utilized at the at the university a plus.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

Job Duties
  • Assists in post-award administration of the School''s sponsored projects, including facilitating reimbursements, purchase orders, service agreements, invoice payments, p-card activities, payroll, stipends, and tuition benefits. Fields questions on these subjects from Principal Investigators and their staffs as to process, allowability, and necessary documentation.

    In addition, the Senior School Research Administrator will coordinate the work tasks with the internal and external clients and the School Research Administrators for post and pre-award activities. Identifies issues and streamlines activities that further benefit the department and OVPR. When necessary, escalates work related matters to the Sponsored Project Administrator/Sponsored Project Manager.

  • Assists Principal Investigators (PIs) and Dean''s office staff in completing sponsored projects proposals, including: budget development and determination of cost-sharing requirements, staffing requirements, assessing space utilization requirements; in formatting proposal in compliance with sponsor guidelines; and facilitating communication among PIs, Departments, Dean''s Office, and Office of the Vice President for Research.

  • Assists PI with the following award management tasks: Preparing requests for OVPR and sponsor prior approval; preparing financial and non-financial reports, and providing support to PI with the University award management tools.

    In addition to the above referenced duties, the Sr. School Research Administrator will assess the training needs of the local administrators and recommend appropriate training modules/courses to the PI/school. Provides mentoring to School Research Administrators.

  • Works with Dean''s Office staff and School faculty to explore external funding opportunities and develops competitive proposals.

  • Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
