POSITION DESCRIPTION:

JOB PURPOSE:

Serving as a Transfer Course Evaluator and Admissions Representative; works closely with admissions staff, faculty advisors and other constituencies to promote and recruit the best possible students to; attend Clemson University. Evaluates and processes transfer course evaluations for accepted transfer students with attention to detail, and efficacy.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Transfer Evaluation E/75%
a. Evaluates academic transcripts and processes credit evaluation forms of accepted students according to procedures, as well as evaluates credit for university-approved articulation agreements.
b. Evaluating prospective student's course-work to aid in the application process upon, request
c. Manages, develops and maintains all transfer credit equivalencies in a computerize-system and online database.
d. Maintains and updates publications to assist in credit evaluation process.
e. Review transfer applications for awarding the Life Scholarship. Serve as point of contact for Life Scholarship inquiries.

2. Orientation and Recruitment E/15%
a. Speaks with prospective students regarding educational opportunities at the university.
b. Answer online inquiries from prospective students and their parents
c. Assists admissions staff at orientation sessions
d. Assists in the development and operation of admissions-sponsored events and other duties as directed by supervisor.

3. Technology and Communication E/5%
a. Represents admissions on the Communications Team to provide updated transfer student application information, such as deadlines and events. Communicate updates to affected staff.
b. Facilitates life scholarship review system for transfer students. Updates forms and serves as liaison with financial aid staff.

4. Other duties as assigned E/5%
QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.

PREFERRED IN ADDITION TO THE MINIMUM
A Master's degree is strongly preferred.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

Routine supervision by the Associate Director, but considerable independent decision making required. Individual must be disciplined, self-motivated, and display a high degree of judgment and initiative. Must be able to thrive in an environment abundant with confidential documents.

Must be well-versed in current technology and be able to embrace technological dynamics. Minimal overnight travel required. Current valid U.S. driver's license required.
PAY & WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hrs: 37.5;  Band: 05 , salary for this position is $31,182
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

1. Demonstrate good judgment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
2. Must have well-developed writing and communication skills
3. Must maintain a positive mental attitude
4. General knowledge of a wide variety of academic disciplines, including those of a scientific/technical nature is highly desirable.
