The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is currently accepting applications for the management position above.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Assistant Director will support the Executive Director in developing, implementing and expanding program philosophy, goals, policies, fundraising strategies, core programs, and operations of Family Engagement Institute (FEI). The Assistant Director will support the ED in executing the overall strategic plan and will be responsible for the day-to-day operational success of FEI. In addition, the AD is responsible for the budget, grant reports and grant proposal research and writing.

The Assistant Director for the Family Engagement Institute is responsible for overseeing student staff and volunteers.

This position is also responsible for developing and administering budgets, grant management and managing operational decisions regarding services.

The following duties and responsibilities are typical but not limited to the following:

Leadership & Operations
• Assist in the implementation of FEI’s integrated model of family engagement to promote collaboration among schools, community organizations, educators, families and other partners.
• Represent FEI in the community and promote the development and expansion of FEI.
• Work with the Executive Director and Foothill College to identify additional funding sources and strategies by pursuing grants, foundations, and pay for service models.
• Assist with implementing FEI’s strategic plan and the continuous improvement of FEI’s organizational effectiveness.
• Prepare and manage FEI’s annual operating budget.
• Identify and work with FEI consultants.
• Assist in the staffing, training, development and mentoring plan to ensure retention of staff and faculty in alignment with FEI’s mission and programmatic goals.
• Oversee quarterly course schedule data entry and faculty positive attendance data entry

Support and Development
• Prepare reports for the FEI Advisory Board, Foothill College, support organizations and other partners documenting progress toward objectives and milestones.
• Implement a partner organization service plan that includes memoranda of understandings, operating agreements and work plans.
• Support the implementation of the FEI evaluation plan through data collection and database management to align with Foothill College and partner organizations in assessment of program efficacy
• Assist in the development of FEI through presentations, conferences, publications, website and print collateral.
• Ensure that program is operating within established budget.
• Coordinate purchasing of supplies and educational materials.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Special needs and understanding of the perceived barriers for families of low socioeconomic status.

• Re-engineer, re-organize, and/or collaboratively maximize efficiency and service to students.

Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrate understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
• Strong track record and leadership experience in the nonprofit and/or public sectors.
• Strong facilitation, public speaking and written communication skills.
• Execute on the vision and ideas of others and to bring innovative ideas to the program.
• Prioritize issues and activities, and to manage timelines.
• Experience in fundraising including relationship development and management.
• Developing and monitoring budgets.
• Strong project management skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent computer skills and a variety of technology platforms and social media tools.
• Experience working collaboratively with schools, community organizations, educators, families and other partners.
• Desire to work with a diverse population multi-cultural environment.
• Exceptional work ethic, committed and passionate about FEI’s mission.
• Approach situations and challenges with flexibility and optimism.

• Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
• Bachelor's degree with a strong experience in education.
• Two years experience in the management or administration of educational programs, community organizations or government programs, working in educational, community non-profit or similar environment.

• Master’s degree.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) desired.

Hiring Range: $73,698.99-$81,256.01
Full Salary Range: $73,698.99-$94,150.14
